Stare into a dark sky And hold in all my oxygen I'm finally getting by It's a sentimental statement Pretending that we can take flight With the pull of gravity Hell bent on keeping us alive Keeping me awake at night I'm tired but you're on my, on my mind Gazing through a pane of glass With all your colors streaming in An incomplete kaleidoscope But perfect all the same In a crowded sea of burning lights If you ever feel alone, don't forget I'm right here with you Oh come lead me out Of the atmosphere And don't leave me without A window To see you turning still Around my world My singular fixation You're my starry destination So keep a reservation for two

Numbers Game 03:27
My friends all have a one-track mind like “How can he keep up with you?” No, he doesn’t party all the time but he’s taught me a thing or two. Like how I bet, you didn’t know that if you flip the equals sign you can see a 40 suddenly find a way, into a 25 Chorus: I don’t know how I can be sure But all I want from you is more yet still I find that I am torn on moving on Although my friends think we’re insane because our ages aren’t the same Guess what We are more than a numbers game His looks destroy me but, He’s not a trophy Add it up yourself and see I see ‘em lookin’ but I just don’t care gimme a getaway subtract the mid-life crisis so let me sum up devisor, denominator, flip it, and we still complete the equation and and, you don’t know you’re probably 15 years from gray and although you may not believe it yet there will come a day

Hear the beep, awaken, take our first breath grind against the lane “the few” have set go to work both sick and tired organize and we’ll get fired for 40 hours or more, they want our best Becoming harder to get all these bills paid we’re not share-holders, no money unless stuff gets made don’t think that we’re the only still divided and still lonely It will take all of us to make a change and you Can’t get there alone Every day, you see us Isn’t much between us When you hear the call please answer, answer tho ‘the few” may fight us let the pain unite us maybe if 200 million shouted you Can’t get there alone

In the desert of Nevada There’s a place you all must go Where the strangers feel like brothers As you cross the casino Where the joy unending makes the Work seem toil free Biggest little brother knows It’s our BLFC Chorus: Through our nights we dream of being back again with you Where our days are happy and secure Let our minds n’er wander from the miracle, the privilege That we call our beloved BLFC

Weird Autumn 01:50
Some people are one way That's how they stay Some people find one life They live that way Hey, man, have you seen her around? Have you seen her today? (Weird autumn, weird autumn) I only knew her a week Before she went away (Weird autumn, weird autumn) Sometimes you can't see someone Until they're gone But some people never stop They're always moving on Hey, man, have you seen her around? Have you seen her today? (Weird autumn, weird autumn) I only knew her a week Before she went away (Weird autumn, weird autumn) Out on Arbor Street I saw Autumn leave Her family drove away They can't sell that house So empty it stays I never knew why that was Neighbor kids say it's because Autumn was weird in a way That stayed in the house and weird it remains Hey, man, have you seen her around? Have you seen her today? (Weird autumn, weird autumn) I only knew her a week Before she went away (Weird autumn, weird autumn)

Dust on this tired old street Mark corners where we used to play Dust trace our tired old feet In circles as we pace our time away I just wanna die anywhere else If only I could die anywhere else So come with me let's die anywhere else Anywhere, just not here Stuck on this dead end street Where all the new kids come to play Stuck where the past and future meet Watching all our autumns drift away I just wanna die anywhere else If only I could die anywhere else So come with me let's die anywhere else Anywhere, just not here And if they ever hear my name, Will they know I walked alone? Around these dusty streets, My tired old home And will they ever stop to think What was here before? No, they won't remember that I'm gone I just wanna die anywhere else If only I could die anywhere else So come with me let's die anywhere else Anywhere, just not here

D G D Got through to July with conventions all streaming G D A(sus) D A better response than the NCAA The SEC’s rolling and Notre Dame’s coughing they’ll get you corona but never fair pay G D/F# Em D/F# (repeat) Lie luh lie, we’ll make rules and enforce them Lie luh lie, all the games will be played Lie luh lie, we must keep advertisers G D/F# Em A Lie luh lie, and the money we’ve made Chorus: Bm F#m G A Aye Aye! We’ve replaced the captain Bm F#m G D Vowote, we have, and we’re pissed. Em D/F# So pay us to stay home and keep our masks on or it’s G D A(sus) D yet one more year where we won’t have a con To no one’s surprise, the west coast was on fire and 10 states away the smoke covered the sun with no rain for months and a climate that’s drying our leaders suspect that their work there is done Lie luh lie, we won’t drill on your park land Lie luh lie, well, until it’s been sold Lie luh lie, here, enjoy this new pipe-line Lie luh lie, is it too hot or cold? Chorus Some time in November they held an election and Trump nearly won despite a quarter million dead lost seats in the house but gained some in the senate thanks to the Georgians who didn’t vote red Lie luh lie, yeah a blue wave is coming Lie luh lie, he will win by a lot Lie luh lie, we’re still offering nothing Lie luh lie, and you get what you got A vaccine is coming, according to Pfizer and stock market gamblers have taken the bait The same politicians who said not to worry get it on camera while workers still wait Lie luh lie, states will nail distribution Lie luh lie, and the shot will be free Lie luh lie, can we sell you a booster? Lie luh lie, you’re our priority Chorus Solo - G D/F# Em D/F# (x4 last chord A) The officers filmed handing out executions got put on paid leave and then back to the beat A couple were charged and still fewer convicted the DAs had found it unnecessary Lie luh lie, he was holding a weapon Lie luh lie, I was told by the cops Lie luh lie, you’ll be killed by antifa Lie luh lie, they’re a dangerous mob Chorus It’s been 32 weeks since we got our twelve hundred and 5 bucks a day doesn’t cover much rent our Democrat saviors won’t hold up a veto we gotta bomb Yemen before checks are sent Lie luh lie, they can’t act in the Senate Lie luh lie, nothing they could arrange Lie luh lie, he’ll get kids out of cages Lie luh lie, he says not much will change Chorus (last chord G and hold on it)

about

This is a collection of tracks recorded between 2013 and 2021 with the bulk of the takes done in the last 4 years of that period. The BLFC Anthem showed that I could write not only for myself, but as a part of larger projects. That cover of Starry Destination was recorded shortly after meeting Fox Amoore, who would end up being partly responsible for my having a career in the first place. All of these songs have stories and significance to me, even though their genres and styles are so very different. These chords trace a path back to when I was singing at an amusement park. When I was settling in with the state I now call home. When it was harder to make rent. Things have changed so much in 7 years, and because of the people around me, much of that change has been for the better. I am grateful to every person who’s supported me, both emotionally and materially. I am grateful to the commissioners who funded the creation of many of these songs, and helped spark the ideas within. I am grateful to the musicians who have added their creativity and energy to these songs, and molded this album into what it is. Also, I am grateful to you, for reading this, and for listening. Thank you.
-Pepper

Special thanks to those who commissioned some of these songs, including:
Blue Grayfox, Urbis, Kim “Nova Luna Kochevar”, Brexton Mustel, and Beth "Becca Fire ranch" Fries.

Thank you also to: Fox Amoore, for being the best friend and musical partner one could hope for. Teddy, for all the good times, and for taming the unreasonable rhythms I keep trying to write. Flop, for making mixes so good they revived 7 year-old material. You’ve brought so much to this music. Sam, not only for the artwork, but for helping whittle a blizzard of ideas into a cohesive whole. Biggest Little Fur Con for using the “National Anthem” I wrote for 2015’s convention to such effect. All of the Patrons who lent their voices to No Conventions This Year, making it sound HUGE. See you next album!
